작년 한해동안 큰 폭의 시장 축소를 기록한 세계 태블릿 시장이 2017년 1분기에 들어서도 몰락이 가속되고 있는 것으로 확인되었습니다.
시장 조사 기관인 미국 IDC에 따르면 2017년 1분기 전세계 태블릿 시장은 전년 대비 -8.5% 감소한 3620만대의 규모를 나타냈습니다. 앞서 발표된 세계 PC 시장이 2017년 1분기부터 다시 성장세로 전환된 점과 상반되는 결과를 보여주고 있습니다.
내리막 시장속의 1위는 애플로 전년 대비 판매량이 -13% 감소한 890만대, 2위 삼성은 전년 대비 -1.1% 감소한 600만대, 3위 화웨이는 전년 대비 31.7% 증가한 270만대, 4위 아마존은 -1.8% 감소한 220만대, 5위 레노버는 -3.8% 감소한 210만대를 기록하고 있습니다. 기타는 전년 대비 -14.4% 감소한 1440만대 입니다.
태블릿은 이미 PC를 대체할 수 없는 것이 확인되었고, 스마트폰 대비 활용성 및 휴대성도 떨어진다는 것을 소비자들이 잘 알고 있기 때문에 시장 축소는 멈추지 않을 것으로 전망되고 있습니다.
